TRACE gives residents and public officials a shared factual record for following taxpayer dollars through budgets, audits, contracts, payments, projects, and public records.

One clear starting point for understanding money in, money out, evidence quality, and the public-record gaps that still need to be closed.
$446.7M revenue and $431.5M spending are the City’s reported aggregate for eight operating funds. This is not a citywide total: internal transfers may be included, and capital, debt, grant, CRA, and other funds still need to be added and reconciled.
This view covers one FY 2024–25 operating-funds report. It is the first trace slice, not the full Port St. Lucie citywide ledger.

Public official brief
TRACE is a nonpartisan evidence system for turning public budgets, audits, contracts, payments, and records into source-backed answers residents and officials can both verify.
The current prototype shows how an official City financial report becomes a citizen-readable dashboard without hiding scope limits. It also shows the next layer: department tracking and evidence preservation before public claims are made.
Every public number should point back to the official record, table, row, calculation rule, and unresolved variance.
Officials can see what is already supported by evidence and which missing records need follow-up before conclusions are drawn.
Residents should not need to read a 400-page budget to understand the basic path of public money.
Show the sourced FY 2024-25 operating-funds revenue and spending snapshot.
Explain that current totals are fund-level, not yet full citywide or vendor-level.
Show the plan for every department/function that spends public money, with pending fields kept honest.
Show the official source registry and the evidence rule: if we cannot trace it, we do not claim it.
TRACE is looking for feedback on which public records matter most, where citizens struggle to understand spending, and how a tool like this could improve transparency without becoming partisan or reckless.

Pending values are intentional. TRACE should not publish a department total or call it tax-supported until the number is traced to an official budget, year-end statement, audit schedule, transaction export, or public-records response.

A review—not an accusation
TRACE separates confirmed facts, calculations, agency claims, contradictory evidence, and unresolved gaps. Missing data is never presented as proof of misconduct.

Compare promised outputs and public outcomes with measurable, time-bound evidence.
Examine the public problem, available alternatives, legal obligations, demand, and fiscal tradeoffs.
The first review will be published only after its source packet has been collected, reconciled, and manually checked.
